Accepted Talks:

DebConf 24 BoF & DebConf 25: In your city?

We have the fine tradition of having DebConf N share their experiences with DebConf N+1. The DebConf committee will also be present and we invite a core member of every team to come around and help with the knowledge transfer.

The session will begin with a DebConf23 presentation.

Also session to discuss possible locations for DebConf25!

We have no official bids for DebConf25, yet.

If you’re interested in hosting DebConf in your city, this is the time to come and present your ideas. They don’t need to be fully fleshed out, but the more detail you have, the more useful discussion we can have.

debian.social BoF

A meetup of the debian.social team.

How are things going? What next?

DebConf committee BoF

Meet the DebConf committee. See and hear us discussing this years and next years’ DebConf. Give us feedback and ask for improvements.

Python BoF

The annual Python Team BoF at DebConf! During this session we will discuss Python’s future in Debian and how people can help.

Whether you’re just using Python, or you would like to be involved in the Debian Python Team, this BoF is for you!

Debian Reimbursement Web Application

Stefano has been working on a web application to track planned expenses and reimbursements for the Debian project (and similar organizations).

This is planned to replace RT-based workflows and centralize requests against all TOs in one place. We hope to use it for the first time, for some of the DebConf 23 expense reimbursements.

This session will be a brief demo of the application, its features, and the roadmap ahead. Feedback and contributors are welcome!

Freexian has been funding Stefano’s work, and the Debian Treasurer team has been reviewing and giving feedback.

Debian.net team BoF

A meetup of the debian.net infrastructure team.

What’s the current state of the service? What should we be improving?

DebConf bursary team BoF

How did bursary grants go this year? What do we want to change for next year?

Freexian Meetup

Meet-up for the Freexian collaborators at DebConf

Curious about Freexian and/or Debian ELTS? Feel free to join the discussion.

Meet the Technical Committee

An opportunity to meet the members of the Debian Technical Committee who are in attendance at DebConf, hear the status of open issues, and discuss pending and future issues.

/usr-merge BoF

The /usr-merge still is an unfinished transition. Finishing it proves to be a difficult problem. A debian-devel@lists.debian.org discussion has captured the relevant sub-problems and gathered some consensus on a way forward. Helmut will give a short update on the state of affairs and then we’ll move into discussion. Attendees are asked to read DEP17 ahead of time in order to use time for questions effectively.
